I am able to prepare design layouts for both large and small scale projects. The amount of design and detailing, with relevant documentation, and possible management of the project required will vary dramatically and shall be proportionate to the complexity and overall budget of the particular project.

The build costs for gardens can vary from under £10K to upwards of £50K + vat, therefore your total budget for the project must take into account the cost (time) element for the design and management process of the build works. Whether you intend to implement the work yourself from a prepared plan, or have the works implemented by a reputable contractor, I can offer a full range of services to suit your individual situation and requirements.

Listed below are the general stages outlining the garden design process. As every garden is unique, and every client’s situation is different, not all of the stages listed may be required.

After my initial meeting and consultation and site visit with you, a fee estimate with a short report will be prepared outlining the relevant stages required and respective costs.

Design stages

• Initial site visit and consultation (chargeable depending on location)
• Site & level survey and evaluation of existing garden
• Initial outline sketch design (for discussion)
• Finalised garden design layout
• Construction details as required.
• Preparation of pricing schedule for proposed works.
• Monitoring & Periodic supervision of build works (by nominated contractor)
• Selection & Implementation of planting (by self if required)
